$3.5 billion and $780 million. That’s how much venture capital was being invested in clean tech last year for California and San Diego, respectively (1). So, as a green energy entrepreneur, one might ask, “How can I get my hands on some of that sweet, sweet capital?” With this question in mind, SDEE presented a workshop designed to address the state of green energy, the trials and tribulations of capturing that capital, and where opportunities might lie in the future.

I was fortunate enough to participate in a recent SDEE event -- "How To Create a Green Energy Company." The event began with a lively crowd, productive conversations, and meaningful exchanges. During this networking opportunity, I was able to learn about each attendee's company, as well as to experience the diversity of green energy businesses in our region.

How to be a Green Entrepeneur
Posted on SDEE News by Danielle Hayes · July 12, 2013 12:31 PMThe July SDEE event titled “How to be a Green Entrepreneur” was hosted at the Town Hall Room of Janssen Research and Development Center in San Diego, with a focus on identifying opportunities for developing and sustaining innovation and entrepreneurship in Green Technology. About 100 members attended the event who represented various organizations ranging from non-profit, biotechnology, hi-tech industry, information technology, sustainable product developers and law firms to name a few. The event provided an opportunity to attendees to network with people from different area of business.
