This workshop will give you skills to apply directly to improve outcomes of all types of negotiations. Whether you are negotiating a founders’ agreement, an investor term sheet, corporate partnership, or a new hire, you will come away with useful techniques and insights. Negotiation is part of everyday life, though most people have not had access to the knowledge and training in this important skill. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of successful negotiation and have the opportunity to practice using an engaging case study. Join us for an informative and interactive workshop with David Johnson.
David is an experienced negotiator and has lectured annually at the Stanford Law School since 2006. He also a lecturer at the d.school where he teaches Negotiation by Design. David has had a full-time law practice since 1996. In addition to negotiation, he has expertise in corporate governance, strategy, IP, litigation, employment, and compliance.
David also has substantive experience in several other areas including biotech, design and innovation, software, strategic analysis and decision-making. He served as Deputy General Counsel for Xenogen and Caliper Life Sciences, and held executive roles at other companies. In Silicon Valley, he has litigated scores of patent, copyright, trade secret, antitrust, and business cases, and worked on corporate transactional and governance matters.
He currently serves on the California State Bar Executive Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution, and its subcommittee on Education and Inclusivity. David is a regular speaker at conferences, seminars and panels on various subjects in law, science and technology, as well as negotiation.
